Save Irrawaddy Dolphin Campaign won a grant from YSEALI to conduct research about 'Cooperative Fishing' culture in Myanmar


  1. Developing a questionnaire methodically to collect key information about dolphin and fishermen behaviour, practices, customs, and belief systems

2. Traning University students and fresh graduates from the Pathein University, Marine Science Department as enumerators to build capacity for nature conservation

3. Conducting phone Interviews with traditional cast-net fishermen during COVID-19 lock-downs to collect necessary data about 'Cooperative Fishing' culture

4. Providing financial support to the fishermen during the annual flooding season as an incentive to protect Irrawaddy dolphins and their habitats in Myanmar
